Amy Susan Heard BioAmy Susan Heard is known in the Metro Detroit area for her smooth, soulful, angelic voice. She has released 4 CD’s. “Sister To Sister” is a tremendous work of love and dedication to her late younger sister, Danielle Diana Heard, the author of the four beautiful works on this EP. “This Day” is one of Amy’s original compositions, coupled with a mesmerizing version of “Amazing Grace.” “Picture Me” is a  collaboration project with composer, James Stonehouse, and “Some People May Ask,” her latest single, a collaboration with Marq Speck of Sweet Crystal (2013 Detroit Music Award winners), has just been released on CDBaby. Amy is a past winner of 2 Detroit Music Awards for Outstanding Christian Vocalist and Outstanding Christian Songwriter. She was also nominated for 16 awards in 2005, spanning 3 music categories of Christian/Gospel, Folk/Acoustic and Pop/Rock.

As a professional Christian Pop/Folk artist, Amy Susan Heard spends a lot of her time in the recording studio, working toward a Christian record contract. She is currently working on four projects: Her 3rd CD, “Meant To Be”; a Christian rock CD with bassist/ songwriter, Mo Jones; and two collaboration projects with composer, James Stonehouse (a Christmas CD and another TBA). Amy has taken part in the Michigan film/radio industry as well. She has done various Voiceovers and just landed her first 3 principal commercial roles: Mega Millions Lottery, Aco Hardware, and Treasure Hunt (Pittsburgh). Amy can also be found on IMDb for her leading role as Cheryl in the Christian film, “Presence,” and the supporting role of Nancy in another Christian film, “Unexpected Places,” both of which can be found on Amazon.com.

Remembered for roles, such as “Polly Browne” in The Boyfriend, “Mayzie La Bird” in Seussical and “Queen Aggravaine” in Once Upon A Mattress, Amy’s most recent appearance on stage was as Mary Magdalene (2011-2012) in a Kelly Neito Productions musical entitled “The Living Stations of the Cross” at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit. She continues to do promotional performances for Kelly Neito Productions as well as drama performances with Catherine Zardus’ “At His Feet: Women In Scripture.” Amy has a Masters in Music (Vocal Performance and Musical Theatre) from the University of Montana and a Bachelor of Music and Minor in Dance from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She attends Oak Pointe Community Church in Milford where she serves on the Praise and Worship team.

Amy Heard (AKA, Mrs. Amy Heard-Wokas) works as a private vocal coach in Milford, Michigan (and at Walled Lake Northern HS), and a community education acting/dance/voice/guitar instructor in Hartland, Waterford and Huron Valley. She also freelances as a choreographer and director/music director. As Music Director, Theatrical Director and Choreographer, one of Amy’s fondest, most challenging and rewarding memories was directing the youth musical at Northville First United Methodist Church. The touring musical was entitled “Because He’s God!” and consisted of 72 amazingly talented and God-filled teenagers who forever will hold a special place in my heart.

Amy Heard is unapologetically, faithfully, and passionately a Bible-believing, God-fearing Christian! For all of her achievements, she gives full credit to the grace of Jesus Christ.
