14-Track CD celebrating the life and music of Danielle Diana Heard
I am soooo excited to announce that the long-awaited 14-track LP, “Meant To Be” (featuring most all the rest of my sister, Danielle Diana Heard’s music and one tribute song of my own), after almost 10 years since I began recording, is finished!
I have created an IndieGoGo Crowdfunding Campaign with the hopes of bringing Danielle’s music legacy to life! “Meant To Be” has already been recorded, mixed and mastered! I am raising money to manufacture 1000 CDs and to get the music heard! For those of you who may not be familiar with the story of Danielle (Dee Dee), let me share a brief glimpse…
She was a whirlwind of life! She was one of those who excelled in everything she tried: dancing, art, singing, acting, softball and…writing music! She always lived each day with a sense of urgency, almost as if she knew her time was not long on this earth. She was not perfect. In fact, she was quite the dare devil and she made plenty of mistakes, but I know she would not regret one day. Unlike most, she was fully awake and lived life to the fullest.
In the last two years of her life, Danielle had learned to play the guitar and wrote about twenty songs that reflect her strong faith and her passion for life and love. She was just two weeks shy of her 19th birthday, seven months pregnant, and preparing to be a single mom when tragedy struck our family. On a beautiful Friday morning, June 28th, 1996, Dee Dee and baby Scarlett’s lives were ended far too soon as a result of an unfortunate head-on collision. She was one mile away from the nearest hospital, but she had suffered a traumatic head injury and God saw fit to take her instantly. Baby Scarlett would soon open her eyes for the first time and take her first breath in Heaven.
Dee Dee was not just my little sister. She was my best friend. Her death impacted me more than you can imagine and the unexpected sight of a stuffed cow or a smiley face at just the right moment can still bring tears to my eyes.
I know that you will be touched by Danielle’s soul-searching lyrics and beautiful melodies. I realize many of you have never heard my first CD, “Sister To Sister,” which featured four of Danielle’s compositions, “The Answer,” “Pink Tennis Shoes,” “Sweet Angel” and “Springview Hills.” These can be heard at my ReverbNation page.
