What a wonderful trip to Chicago area this past weekend! We got the word out about the new single CD, Auguste D and created awareness of Alzheimer’s Disease.
The first stop was Brookdale (Vernon Hills) in the Fireside Lounge and what a blessing that was to sing for the residents and I met a new buddy named Sam who wanted me to sing every song he knew! 🙂 I also got to spend time in the tiki lounge in the world’s second largest rainforest café! 🙂
Next stop was the Lili Reid Holt Memorial Chapel on the campus of Lake Forest college… gorgeous church! What a wonderful welcome from a lively congregation! 🙏💜 I had the honor of singing for all Saints Day and our music was received very well! Many sniffles could be heard during “Auguste D.” 😢🤧
And finally, the last stop was the Lake Bluff senior center in Lake Forest Illinois! Again, I made a new friend, Brigitta, who was very touched when I gave her a CD with Amazing Grace on it, which was her mom’s favorite song.😇
I had the pleasure of performing jazz standards and beautiful gospel songs with the very talented pianist, Ken Hall.
And of course I got to explore Libertyville w my hosts! What a great time! 🙂 Please consider purchasing a download of Auguste D and sharing on social media, so that we can do more of these mini tours and bring awareness to this ever growing, tragic disease that takes so many lives.
